This project in Hilly Fields, London, focused on revitalising a small, tired front garden belonging to a beautiful period property. Over time, the space had become neglected and lacked both structure and visual appeal, diminishing the overall character of the home. The client’s vision was to restore the garden in a way that respected the building’s heritage while introducing practical improvements to make the space more usable and inviting.

We began by carefully constructing a new set of York stone steps leading up to the entrance. Chosen for their durability and timeless appearance, these steps provide a strong visual feature while complementing the traditional architecture of the property. A detailed mosaic tiled pathway was then installed, adding a unique decorative element that enhances the charm and authenticity of the space.

To improve functionality, limestone paving was laid in key areas, creating a clean and elegant surface that is both hard-wearing and in keeping with the period style. To frame the garden, we built a new front wall using imperial bricks, carefully selected to match the original materials of the property.

The finished result is a thoughtfully restored front garden that feels cohesive, refined, and true to the character of the home, significantly enhancing its street presence.
